Name: ~Dakota~

Breed:Labrador Retriever

Sex: Female

Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 3 years old (8-98)

Comments: Here is our girl Dakota. We got her as a pup and I can't even begin to explain how much we have learned from her over the years. She loves to play ball, go for walks, and steal anything she can get her teeth on. After everything she has been through, she's still her happy, loving self and always puts a smile on our faces. We love her more than words can say.

Name: ~Lacy~

Breed: Rough Collie

Sex: Female

Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 11 years old (Dec 2000)

Comments: Lacy has her CGC and TDI (Therapy Dog International), retired, and is the sweetest dog I've ever known -- never shown a tooth to her collie, sheltie, yorkie or cat sisters, any other animal you can name, nor any person. She loves kids, too. Wonderfully peaceful and empathic, she's the best dog I've ever had in my life, and I've had MANY. She will let the techs and doctors do anything to her without a complaint, and be in alot of pain (arthritis) without a complaint, a grumble or a snap. She has taught me much, and for all the costs and worries of her illness, I will always be grateful for having had this marvelous dog with the "imperfect" ears in my life. She's a part of my heart and soul, and it's so unfair that she should ever have to suffer or be in the least pain because she has done nothing in her entire life to deserve anything but the best life could give her. Not everyone is so fortunate to have such a dog come into their life even once. I know God must love me, because he sent me this perfect angel.

Name: ~Morgan the Pom Queen~

Breed: Pomeranian

Sex: Female

Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 10 1/2 years old

Comments: Miss Morgan is the happiest soul I've ever known, my own ray of sunshine. In Oct. 1999 she had her first Addisons crisis, manifested as hemorrhagic diarrhea. Between then and June 12, 2000 she had 4 additional, life threatening episodes. I will be forever in debt to Dr. Kari Johnson for listening to me and finally diagnosing Morgan. As a working therapy dog Morgan prances her way into many hearts. Now on meds she is back at work and play, as usual, and my heart is relieved!

Name: ~Brownie~

Breed: Bull Terrier

Sex: Female

Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 3 1/2 years old

Comments: Brownie was diagnosed May 3, 2000. She is a 3 1/2 year old female brindle bull terrier. When she's feeling better, she likes playing with her rope and snuggling with her mom and dad. We were lucky that her vet suspected Addison's right away when she came in after collapsing. We hope that with some time and getting her dosage right, she will soon be bouncing around the house again.
